If you have been in a long-term relationship, there is a risk that the romance has faded just a bit. That's your very own issue, right? No! There are people out there who want to help you kick-start the fading pleasure – without any human intrusion in your private sphere (as psychologists are often seen).
Monthly Surprises
Lovebox, a Zurich based startup, launched their subscription service three months ago. They will send their customers a box full of romantic surprises every month.
Each box contains three to five products that a couple can use to get closer to one another and improve their love life. Each month, there is a different theme with a small instruction card on how to seduce your loved one in a surprising way.
Products such as blindfolds, massage candles or chocolate body paint are some of the products in their early boxes. Later on in the subscription cycle, the surprises will get more experimental with products such as handcuffs or even some toys that one might know from the “Fifty Shades of Grey” book series. Lovebox sends quality products for a decent price (CHF 49.90, shipping costs included for one month), and offers bigger packages for special occasions like Valentines Day.
Sexual Revolution 2.0
Lovebox has experienced an immediate success with its offering. Who said that Swiss people are not that hot? Customers even started to ask for the possibility to buy individual products. Why? To experiment with new stuff!
Lovebox founder Lukas Speiser believes that his start-up is part of a new sexual revolution: "Products are becoming fancier and higher in quality, which makes them much more mainstream and interesting to a much broader audience. Ten years ago, no one was familiar with any brands in the adult toy industry. But today, partly because of the “Fifty Shades” books, names such as Fun Factory, Jimmyjane and We-Vibe are names people start to recognize. This, combined with the fact that each year more people shop online, will lead to significant growth in this industry."
About the Founder
Lukas came up with the idea about a year ago. Why did he choose romantic products? Subscription models were attractive to him, and many products were already available in this form. But nobody had come up with an offering in the romantic industry!
The startup is self-financed and is investing all revenue into marketing and expansion. Lukas plans to expand the already wide product range by a factor of 4 within the next 12 months (currently, they have 500 different products). New monthly boxes are constantly packaged to surprise customers and make them happy.
