Strong brands have a long tradition in Switzerland.
Thanks to Switzerland's diversity, as well as a healthy apprentice system and education system promoting innovation, the claims of quality, precision and reliability are more than buzz words. Not surprisingly, the 2013 ranking of Best Swiss Brands reveals that roughly one third belong to watchmakers. Since IWC, Omega, ROLEX and Swatch embody these typical Swiss values, they make a positive contribution to the perception of Switzerland's brands abroad. Other influential Swiss brands can be found in finance, insurance, food and pharmaceuticals.
Part of a brand's visual identity is the logo.
In the best case, a logo can transport the entire claim of the brand. Thus, the color, shape and typography are equally important elements of any logo. When it comes to powerful Swiss brands, the prevalence of the color red and the frequent usage of the white cross jump out.
