8 Ingenious Delivery Services in Zurich

One of the benefits of Zurich is the small downtown. For one, it is convenient to be able to walk from one end to another in less than 30 minutes. It also feels cozier than many larger cities because there is no way to avoid familiar spots or places of personal significance when strolling around (like where you had your first cotton candy, or your first kiss)...

It should come to no surprise then that Zurich boasts a very eclectic portfolio of delivery services. Here is my take on the most creative, useful and unique delivery services available in the greater Zurich area:

Brunch Kurier

You wake up Sunday morning wanting breakfast in bed. Brunch Kurier is just a phone call away: He will show up in a fancy suit to deliver a five star menu right to your apartment!

Mr. Green

Need someone to recycle your beer and wine bottles after a wild poker night? Subscribe to the Mr. Green pick-up service and you will have more time to plan the next party...

Öpfelchasper - "Apple Jester"

A subscription with this duo will net you a regular wicker basket of all-organic fruits. Did I mention that Öpfelchasper will only deliver by bicycle?

Kuchen-Nina

For anyone with dietary restrictions such as allergies, this baker at heart will blow your taste buds with new cake creations every week! Kuchen-Nina delivers by bicycle.

Rent a Rentner - "Retiree"

Need someone to help you out? How about a retiree with a track record of having ironed 10'000 shirts or hung 999 pictures? Some may call it cruel, but the Rent a Rentner database of retired folks offering their life skills is entirely voluntary.

Suppen und Pedale - "Soup and Pedals"

And yet another bicycle delivery service! Care for some freshly made, all organic, totally local soup? As part of an order of Suppen und Pedale, you will also receive spoons and a loaf of whole wheat bread!

Which one of these is your favorite? Have you actually used any of these or do they exist in your city as well? Let us know in the comments...

  • I recently burnt my leg (twice) whilst ironing. A friendly retiree is welcome to take the task of my hands while we chat over a coffee (that way I will learn some Swiss German)!
