It all started in 1993, when the two graphic designers Markus and Daniel Freitag were looking for a functional, water repellent and robust bag to carry their design drawings - even in the rain.
Today, Freitag has evolved into a global brand with 130 employees, a fan base of millions, and a very special recognition by the renowned MoMA.
Needless to say, Freitag bags have attained cult status. Made from old truck tarps, the various shapes and sizes of bags show off Swiss design and functionality the world over. Now, the story of the Freitag brothers can be traced by you and me. Through the end of July 2012, the Museum für Gestaltung in Zürich shows how design, thinking and entrepreneurship can work together to create a lasting brand.
