The annual Strawberry Festival in Locarno

Strawberry pies, Coupe Romanoff, strawberry pastries or simply raw strawberries: The list of delicious treats served on Locarno's Piazza Grande is endless!

The annual Strawberry Festival in Locarno is very popular among the locals. But why let them eat all the strawberry delicacies when "Fragole in piazza" is open to anyone? Located amid the colorful buildings on the Piazza Grande, various sellers will be presenting their best strawberry treats. While there is no admission to attend the Strawberry Festival, it is advised that you bring some pocket money in order to taste as many strawberry dishes as possible.

This festival dedicated to the strawberry would not be complete without the traditional fashion show! At 3:40 PM, be there to view the happenings culminating in the award of Miss Fragola 2020!

Here is the line-up for the Strawberry Festival in Locarno:

1:00 PM Opening of Buvette and Fragolino Bar and distribution of fresh strawberries with cream or lemon, with or without balsamic vinegar, strawberry cake, strawberry and strawberry ice cream.
1:10 PM Lipa Band and various dance performances
2:00 PM Mayor of Locarno and Roberto Rota, the festival president
2:15 PM Various dance performances
3:40 PM Miss Strawberry 2018 parade
3:55 PM Various dance performances
4:50 PM Miss Strawberry 2018 fashion show
5:05 PM More dance performances
5:30 PM Miss Strawberry 2018 fashion show
5:45 PM Yet more dance performances
6:10 PM Miss Strawberry 2018 election
6:20 PM Lottery drawing and prize handover (1st: a wheel barrow full of presents plus a dinner with Miss Strawberry 2017)
