A Swiss National Day for Foodies at Hotel Paradies in Ftan
Aug 1, 2019 - Aug 4, 2019
CHF970Tucked away in the Lower Engadine is a veritable paradise for foodies: Hotel Paradies.
The restaurant at this upscale five-star hotel is helmed by Executive Chef Thomas Hayungs. After several years of performing culinary arts in the region, Hayungs has made a name for his creative interpretation of local cuisine.
This Swiss National Day, Hayungs and his team will prepare a traditional BBQ on the hotel's terrace. (Expect lots of Swiss flag decorations as well as live Jazz.) In the manner of the chef, only the juiciest parts of meat will be served - sourced from regional butcheries such as the famous Ludwig Hatecke.
And once it gets dark, you will be able to see the many bon fires light up in the mountain range across the valley floor. This Swiss National Day will be a treat for your senses!
Engadine meets Japan
Then on August 3, an evening highlighting the best Swiss sea food (no pun intended!) It will be about fusion cuisine: freshly caught Swissshrimp shrimp from Rheinfelden, Oona caviar from Frutigen, as well as Swiss alpine salmon.
As if this were not luxurious enough, Hayungs will be joined by two renowned sushi masters: Ken Groh and Mioh Suguro run Yu-An and Kokoro in Zurich! At 1650 meters above sea level, they will be preparing Swiss sushi specialties live on stage!
