ZüriCarneval 2023 is more colorful than ever!

The Fasnacht carnival tradition in Zürich may not be as substantial as in Basel or Luzern. But for one weekend, the city’s own Mardi Gras is usually taking over the streets of Zürich.
Jazz concerts and steel band performances are highlights of the Zürich carnival tradition. The culmination of ZüriCarneval is a spectacular street show for everyone who loves confetti, weird costumes, and live music.
The kick-off to this year's edition will be on Münsterhof at 5 PM. The theme is "Zrugg und bunter den je," which translates to "Back - and more colorful than ever before!" Check the ZüriCarneval website for more information on the program.
In remembrance of the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the organizers will host a special event on Feb 24 at Grossmünster. From 5 to 8 PM, Gugge bands will be staying away from this area out of respect.
