The MUDAC Musée de design et d’arts appliqués contemporains in Lausanne is one of our favorite places in the Suisse Romande and definitely one of the most child-friendly design museums in Switzerland.
This time, they have really outdone themselves with a fantastic exhibition dedicated to the best-loved toy figurines in the world: PLAYMOBIL.
Needless to say, the children absolutely loved it - but I was surprised to see expat husband reminiscing about his old seventies toy sets and getting all nostalgic! The exhibition also includes a fantastic play-area filled with Playmobil, where little hands are free to explore and build what they like.
The MUDAC Museum in Lausanne is fantastic if you love contemporary design, so you can leave your better half in charge of the little ones and have a wander around the Swiss Federal Design Awards exhibition or enjoy the quiet reading area with all the best Swiss and international design magazines.
After our visit to the MUDAC, we drove down to the shore of Lake Geneva and enjoyed a lazy Sunday brunch by the water. It is a perfect family day-out for everyone.
